Mighty Mekong & Angkor Wat
Pedalers Pub & Grille recently announced a new adventure tour that takes in both Vietnam and Cambodia in an imaginative new fashion. The new trip Mighty Mekong & Angkor Wat combines a river voyage up the Mekong River on the new luxury river ship, the Jahan, with an in depth cycling tour of the fabled ruins of Angkor Wat, as well as rural Cambodia and Vietnam.
Guests on this 12 day adventure holiday will begin their journey in the Mekong Delta, exploring fishing villages and ancient pagodas, before continuing upstream into Cambodia. Two wheeled forays from each port of call will bring cyclists into the rural country side, as well as bigger cities like Phnom Penh, visiting handicraft centers, temples, orphanages and the picturesque countryside. Winding down in Siem Reap, the many wonders of ancient Angkor Wat cap the tour in grand style.
“We have put this journey together to get travelers off the beaten tourist path, led by local knowledgeable guides, while still providing delightful accommodations and great food.” says Tom Sheehan, founder and managing director. “Our goal is to allow our guests to discover the culture, cuisine and countryside, without roughing it.”
Accommodations for this journey include cabins on the new Jahan luxury river cruiser and boutique inns in Siem Reap. The Mighty Mekong & Angkor Wat tour is $3750 (per person, double occupancy), with departures scheduled for 3 August, 9 November 2012 & 25 January 2013. The package includes accommodation, all meals, local expert guides, vehicle support during most cycling, airport pick ups and drop offs. Rental bikes are available at extra cost.
